Kenny Pickett’s car was stolen last week, according to a report – with potentially serious consequences for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season. Police, however, are providing a quick happy ending.
Scary moment for Kenny Pickett of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 24-year-old had his car stolen last Wednesday, according to local TV station “WTAE”.
While the theft of the SUV would have been bearable for the quarterback in view of his seven-figure salary, the loss of the playbook inside with the details of the offensive strategy of offensive coordinator Matt Canada might have hit him much harder.
Playbooks are invaluable
Opposing teams probably would have licked their fingers at the records. Normally, clubs guard such material like the apple of their eye.
Players who fail to make the 53-man squad at the start of a season, for example, have to hand back their issues.
A leak of information to other teams would have likely been a major setback to the Steelers’ season.
Police provide quick happy ending
Unfortunately, according to “WTAE”, the vehicle and its valuable contents were recovered by police within half an hour – and a suspected perpetrator was reportedly arrested.
Ironically, Pickett’s car was probably stolen when the 24-year-old was visiting a car dealer.
So after the brief shock, the quarterback can now get back to focusing on learning the plays of the Steelers offense for the upcoming season.
