The Baltimore Ravens are parting ways with Odell Beckham Jr. after just one season. Now several teams are likely to be keeping an eye on the wide receiver. Will he still end up with a contender?
Last April, Odell Beckham Jr. signed a one-year, $18 million contract with the Baltimore franchise. Now he has been released by the Ravens.
In 2023, Beckham had 35 catches on 64 targets for 565 yards, making him the team’s second-best receiver. He also scored three touchdowns in 14 games. In two playoff games, he had four catches for 34 yards and no touchdowns.
2023 was OBJ’s first season back from a torn ACL. He suffered the injury in Super Bowl LVI while playing for the Los Angeles Rams. As a result of the injury, he missed the entire 2022 season.
In his career, the 31-year-old has 566 receptions for 7,932 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns. He is a one-time Super Bowl champion and was the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
He is also a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time Second Team All-Pro.
Although OBJ is no longer in top form and has been plagued by injuries, one or two teams are sure to keep an eye on him.
According to the Daily Mail, he himself already has a desired destination, as Beckham is said to prefer a move to the Kansas City Chiefs. However, according to the report, money is also a factor, as this could possibly be his last chance at a big contract in the NFL.
