The New York Jets’ sporting decline claims its next victim: after five years in office, General Manager Joe Douglas has to vacate his office.
As various media outlets are reporting, the 48-year-old is being dismissed with immediate effect.

Douglas is the second prominent victim, after head coach Robert Saleh, to have to look for a new job after the catastrophic season for the franchise.
The 48-year-old took over as general manager in June 2019 and had previously worked for the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens, among others.
Just last year, Douglas managed to lure superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to New York.
The chronically unsuccessful franchise was hoping for a golden era in the Big Apple, but after Rodgers’ injury-related absence last season and this year’s poor start, the Jets will likely have to continue waiting for their second Super Bowl title.
Douglas’ time in New York ended with a 30-64 record. The team is currently at 3-8.
