Tyreek Hill has made headlines several times in recent months. But he wants to make headlines again on the field in the coming season.
Things have not been quiet around Tyreek Hill in recent months. After the end of the disappointing 2024 NFL season, he announced that he wanted to leave the Miami Dolphins – and later qualified his statements.
There was also trouble in his private life once again, with police called to the Hill household after a heated argument with his wife Keeta Vaccaro. According to media reports, Vaccaro filed for divorce the following day.
The 31-year-old also had to undergo wrist surgery, which appears to have been successful. As Hill explained on Wednesday, he is “pain-free.” He is also looking ahead instead of back.
Hill announced that he wants to resume a dominant role on the field. “Every day, I try to prove myself as one of the players the team can rely on in crucial moments,” he said.
No thoughts of leaving: Hill wants to prove himself
The fact that he announced his departure after the season finale with the words “I’m out” in a state of complete frustration is now forgotten. “Emotions were running high at the time. Ultimately, I’m just focused on moving forward,” Hill said.
He wants to prove himself and show his teammates “that I’m still one of them,” explained the 2020 Super Bowl winner, who was with the Kansas City Chiefs at the time.
But what does the six-time All-Pro still have left in the tank? In 2024, he missed the 1,000 receiving yards mark for the first time since his Super Bowl season, but he also missed several games that year. Not so last year.
Compared to 2023, his receiving yards and touchdowns were nearly halved, which was also due to the long absence of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. With a record of 8-9, the Dolphins ultimately missed the playoffs.
That’s now forgotten, and Hill has set himself a goal: to at least attack the 2,000 receiving yards mark. His personal best is 1,799 yards from the 2023 season.
