NFL: Miami Dolphins heavily criticized for trading Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith

Former Dolphin Raheem Mostert says the trade of Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith to Pittsburgh reminds him of his own fate. Tyreek Hill also has a clear opinion.

The trade of Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins to the Pittsburgh Steelers has caused quite a stir in the NFL and drawn harsh criticism.

For Raheem Mostert, the trade is yet another sign of how badly long-time performers are treated by the Dolphins.

“If you’re a Pro Bowler and you play for the Dolphins, you get treated like sh… But I’m happy for the guys,” Mostert commented on X.

Mostert criticizes Dolphins after Ramsey and Smith trade

Mostert speaks from experience. The running back played in Miami for three years and was nominated for the Pro Bowl in 2023 during that time.

In February of this year, however, he was released by the Dolphins and joined the Las Vegas Raiders shortly thereafter.

Cornerback Ramsey is a seven-time Pro Bowler and won the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in February 2022 before joining the Dolphins.

Tight end Smith was named to the All-Pro team last season.

Tyreek Hill also made clear what he thinks of the trade of the two star players. The Miami Dolphins star receiver posted a reel showing actor Will Smith standing alone on a huge carpet. Hill posted a crying emoji alongside it.

Minkah Fitzpatrick returns to Miami

The interpretation of the post is not difficult. After the sudden departure of his teammates, he feels just as alone as Smith.

The fact that the Dolphins got their former first-round pick Minkah Fitzpatrick back in return and picked up a fifth-round pick for the 2027 draft is unlikely to have improved Hill’s mood.
