NFL: Las Vegas Raiders win Hall of Fame Game against Jacksonville Jaguars.

Perfect start to the NFL season for the Las Vegas Raiders. The franchise led by new head coach Josh McDaniels celebrates a commanding victory in the Hall of Fame Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Munich – This is how Josh McDaniels envisioned his debut as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders: The franchise won the highly anticipated NFL Hall of Fame Game 27-11 over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

For the new Jags coach Doug Pederson, however, there was less reason to be happy.

Touchdown runs by Ameer Abdullah, Austin Walter and quarterback Jarrett Stidham, plus two field goals by kicker Daniel Carlson ensured the Raiders’ victory.

Jacksonville had only a field goal and a late touchdown from Nathan Cottrell off a pass from backup playmaker Kyle Sloter to counter.

Carr and Adams not in action

Meanwhile, the highlight of the game was not scored. On the final play of the game, Jaguars receiver Willie Johnson carried a punt 88 yards into the end zone. However, after a holding call by the referee crew, the touchdown was called back.

The Raiders’ new top duo of quarterback Derek Carr and ex-Packers receiver Davante Adams warmed up but didn’t get a chance at playing time. For the Jaguars, playmaker Trevor Lawrence was also only used as a backup on the sidelines.

Due to local weather conditions, the game was delayed by 40 minutes.
