Davante Adams answers the question of whether the Kansas City Chiefs were on his wish list with clear words.

A few days after his trade from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets, Davante Adams will make his debut for the team around quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the Sunday Night Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers had also hoped to sign the wide receiver, as Adams himself revealed.

They were on a list, along with the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints, “that I gave to the general manager,” the 31-year-old explained on “FanDuel TV.”

On the “Up & Adams” show, he also revealed who was not on his wish list. “Negative,” he said when asked about the Kansas City Chiefs.

“That was also speculated. I don’t want to say anything crazy, but the Chiefs were not on the list,” Adams continued.

The Chiefs would have been in need of a wide receiver after the injuries of Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown.

But aside from the fact that the Raiders were reluctant to give up their star receiver to one of their biggest rivals, the Jets were the best option from the start, Adams said.

“They were my number 1 and they were clearly the most interested in me,” he said.

But the real deciding factor was likely his friendship with Rodgers, with whom he played for the Green Bay Packers from 2014 to 2021.

After missing the past three games for the Raiders due to injury, he will catch passes from Rodgers for the first time in three years on the night from Sunday to Monday.
