The Kansas City Chiefs are leaving Arrowhead Stadium and the state. Kansas supports the construction of a dome.
Every NFL fan associates the Kansas City Chiefs – apart from players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – with the tomahawk chop at Arrowhead Stadium.
But the traditional stadium will have served its purpose by 2031 at the latest. The Chiefs have found a new home and are even leaving the state. As owner Clark Hunt announced at a press conference, the Chiefs want to play in a dome in Wyandotte County, west of Kansas City, in six years. Hunt confirmed that the state of Kansas is contributing to the approximately $3 billion stadium construction, which is to have a roof.
A new training facility for the club is to be built in Olathe, Kansas, about 30 miles southwest of Kansas City. The new home will then be located in the state of Kansas. Currently, the stadium and training facility are located in the state of Missouri.

Kansas City is located partly in the state of Missouri and partly in the state of Kansas. When the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020, US President Donald Trump initially congratulated the state of Kansas on Twitter, before deleting the tweet and offering his congratulations to the residents of Missouri.
