NFL: Joe Burrow gives injury update – preseason in jeopardy?

Joe Burrow’s last season was ended by a wrist injury. Is it now even affecting the quarterback’s upcoming preseason? The superstar gives an update.

If Joe Burrow stays healthy, he’s certainly one of the best active quarterbacks in the NFL. But only if he stays healthy. Since entering the league in 2020, the quarterback has repeatedly struggled with injuries. He already missed six games in his rookie season due to an ACL injury.

The 27-year-old also had to sit out six games last season. First due to a calf injury and then a wrist injury. He even suffered from this injury beyond the end of the season.

Does it even affect him during preparations for the coming season? Hardly, as the quarterback has now revealed on the website of his Cincinnati Bengals.

“I do rehab every day. It’s always a part of my training,” Burrow is quoted as saying in the club’s announcement. It goes on to say, “As far as my offseason workout, it hasn’t affected it too much. I was able to do pretty much everything I normally do in strength and conditioning workouts. Physically, I’m in good shape. “

This is promising news for Bengals fans and going forward the face of the fanchise wants to take more care of his body.

“I’m confident that I’ve done everything I need to do to stay healthy,” Burrow said. “I’m working from year to year to improve my training and make it more efficient. Maybe in the offseason I’ll listen to my body a little more and not force myself to do things I may have done in the past. I’m just starting to get to know my body more and more,” he continued.

Bengals: Changes to the squad and the coaching bench

If Burrow stays healthy, the team from Cincinnati should have a good chance of making the playoffs. In the offseason, the team’s management made significant changes to the squad.

With Tee Higgins and Trenton Irwin, two starters were kept. Tight end Mike Gesiki is a promising new pass receiver. Zack Moss was signed as the new running back after the departure of Joe Mixon and the Bengals acquired two experienced players in offensive tackles Trent Brown and Cody Ford to better protect Burrow.

There were also changes in the coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Brian Callahan will be on the Tennessee Titans sideline as head coach. Dan Pitcher, who was previously the quarterbacks coach, will fill that gap for the Bengals.

“We’ve tried to keep most things in-house, but we’ve also had some new additions that we think will bring a new element. I think that’s always a good thing,” Burrow commented on the changes.
