Joe Burrow wanted the Cincinnati Bengals to keep their top stars a few months ago. He described the fact that there are still problems going into training camp as “disappointing.”
Joe Burrow actually wanted the Cincinnati Bengals to take decisive action, keep their top stars and give them new contracts. The quarterback wants to play in the Super Bowl in 2025.
This has happened with wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but not yet with Trey Hendrickson. The pass rusher is still on strike because he doesn’t have a new contract yet.

His teammate Shemar Stewart is also not on the field yet; the rookie still hasn’t signed his contract. It’s a tug-of-war that has been disrupting preparations for weeks.
This is causing frustration for Burrow. “Of course it’s disappointing,” Burrow said at his press conference on Wednesday. “Of course you want all the guys to be there from day one to gel. But that’s not how it usually works,” Burrow said. “It’s a business. That’s how it is.”
Joe Burrow understands his teammates
Despite his frustration that the time for the team to prepare with a full roster is dwindling, Burrow also showed understanding for his teammates.
“No one is ever going to blame a player for doing what he thinks is right for his business. The NFL is a tough business. You have to fight for everything you can get – that’s the game,” said the quarterback.
