XXL payday for Jalen Ramsey! The Miami Dolphins cornerback is rumored to have agreed to a new contract with his franchise – making him the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback
Jalen Ramsey is set to become the NFL’s new highest-paid cornerback. This is according to a recent report by Ian Rapoport and Cameron Wolfe from the “NFL Network”.
According to the report, the Dolphins and the 29-year-old have agreed on a new three-year contract. The cornerback is to be paid a total of 72.3 million dollars for his services, which would be 24.1 million dollars per year.
However, official confirmation from the Dolphins and Ramsey is still pending.
The cornerback has been playing in the NFL since 2016, when he was picked fifth in the first round of the draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ramsey was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019 and has been a part of the Miami Dolphins since March 2023.
Jalen Ramsey: No cornerback deserves more
According to a post by “ESPN” reporter Adam Schefter on the social network “X”, Ramsey is the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL in terms of salary per year when signing a new contract.
At 24.1 million dollars, he is just ahead of Patrick Surtain of the Denver Broncos, who earns 24 million dollars a year.
He is followed by Jaire Alexander (Green Bay Packers, 21 million dollars), AJ Terrell (Atlanta Falcons, 20.25 million dollars) and Denzel Ward (Cleveland Browns, 20.1 million dollars).
The new NFL season begins for Ramsey on Sunday at 7 p.m., when his Miami Dolphins take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
