NFL: Jaguars safety Wingard rants about former head coach Urban Meyer

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t doing great, but they’re doing better than last season. Now, a safety is really lashing out at unsuccessful former head coach Urban Meyer in an interview

Munich – The Jacksonville Jaguars are still third in the AFC South with a negative record of 4-7 after a surprising 28-27 win over the Baltimore Ravens, but they are doing much better than last season.

Back then, head coach Urban Meyer had to leave after the 13th game – even today he is still getting his fat from today’s Jaguars players. Safety Andrew Wingard actually only commented on Jacksonville’s young quarterback Trevor Lawrence after the win against the Ravens, but then went a little further and criticised Meyer harshly.

“He had to deal with Meyer “

“I’m so happy for Trevor that things are going better for him now. Because in his rookie year, he had to deal with Urban Meyer,” Wingard said. “I don’t even know if you can call that a rookie year then. “

The criticism of the ex-coach can be clearly heard. But that’s not all, as the Jax safety then went on to praise his current head coach Doug Pederson to the heavens.

Wingard “would die for Pederson “

“I would die for Doug Pederson, I swear. I would go to battle with him one hundred percent, I just love that guy,” Wingard gushed, adding more salt to the wound with the unpopular Meyer.

In Wingard’s defence: Meyer actually did not deliver in any way in his debut season as an NFL coach. Of the 13 games last season under his tutelage, the Jaguars lost 11 of them – only two wins came in Jacksonville with Meyer, who previously coached the Ohio State Buckeyes for seven years and enjoyed various college coaching success.
