NFL: Jacksonville claims first victory in nine months

On his 25th birthday, quarterback Trevor Lawrence ended the long dry spell for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. Thanks to kicker Cam Little, the team won 37:34 against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, their first victory since December 31, 2023.

The Jaguars started the season with defeats against the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans, but now they have turned the corner. Their last win so far was a 26-0 victory over the Carolina Panthers on the penultimate matchday of the 2023/24 regular season.

The duel with the Colts was extremely exciting. Jacksonville increased their lead to 34:20 with a little over five minutes left on the clock, but then Indianapolis, with quarterback Joe Flacco, scored two touchdowns to tie the game. With 17 seconds left on the clock, kicker Little scored the Jags the winning field goal from 49 yards out.

Meanwhile, German-American Brandon Coleman and the Washington Commanders celebrated a comfortable 34-14 win over the Cleveland Browns. It was the offensive tackle’s fourth win in five games. In a thrilling duel, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Cincinnati Bengals 41-38 after extra time.
