The German-speaking contingent at the Indianapolis Colts is growing once again. Tight end Maximilian Mang has signed as an undrafted free agent.
The Indianapolis Colts of the US National Football League (NFL) have signed another German player ahead of their away game in Berlin.
The club announced on Friday that 25-year-old tight end Maximilian Mang has been signed as an undrafted free agent. This gives the Brandenburg native the chance to be part of the Colts’ first NFL game at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium next season.
Mang, who is 2.04 meters tall and weighs 121 kilograms, most recently played college football at Syracuse University, before which he played in the German Football League (GFL) for the Berlin Rebels and later for the Potsdam Royals.
Mang is the third German-speaking player in the Colts’ current roster, alongside Austrian offensive lineman Bernhard Raimann and German safety Marcel Dabo.
