In May, a horrific school massacre occurred in the Texas town of Uvalde. The Houston Texans are now once again showing solidarity with the victims and touching base with their commitment to those affected.
Munich – At the end of May, a tragedy occurred at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde in the US state of Texas. A 19-year-old rampage killer killed 19 children and two adults.
Shortly after the rampage, the Houston Texans donated 400,000 US dollars to support the victims. Now the NFL team has once again come up with something to show solidarity with the affected place.
Members of the franchise travelled to Uvalde to visit the football team of Uvalde High School. Part of the travel group included CEO Cal McNair, Head Coach Lovie Smith and linebackers Kamu Grugier-Hill and Christian Kirksey.
Texans support football team from Uvalde
As part of the visit, the Texans announced they would be outfitting the football team with new jerseys with the help of Nike. “It was just special to see the smiles on their faces,” Kirksey explained on “Good Morning Football. “
And continued, “We know this city has been hit hard. When you’re not just a football player, but someone who offers a shoulder for someone else to lean on, it warms my heart. We’re just happy to be here, and we’re honoured to be here and let the city know we support them in any way we can.”
But that’s not all. The Texans have also invited the Uvalde football team to their first game of the season against the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, the franchise will place “Uvalde Strong” stickers on their helmets.
