NFL: Denver Broncos will release quarterback Russell Wilson

The Denver Broncos will end their misunderstanding with quarterback Russell Wilson prematurely after two years. However, this will cost the Colorado franchise dearly.

What has been a long time coming is now a done deal: The Denver Broncos have informed their quarterback Russell Wilson that they will be releasing him shortly.

Wilson’s time in Denver will come to an end after less than two years. He came to Colorado via trade from the Seattle Seahawks in the spring of 2022 and was hailed as a savior at the time.

Even before the now 35-year-old had played his first game, his contract was extended by five years. As a result, the upcoming release will cost the Broncos even more, with the contract now starting, the amount of dead money is around 85 million dollars this season alone.

As the Broncos announced, the release will take effect at the start of the new league year on March 13th

Wilson totaled 30 games, 6,594 passing yards, 42 touchdown passes and 19 interceptions in two seasons for the Broncos. In neither season did the franchise achieve a positive record.
