At the end of the NFL match day, the Denver Broncos gave the Cincinnati Bengals no chance, thus keeping pace in the AFC West.
The Denver Broncos won the decisive NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals by a clear margin. The final score was 28:3 for the Broncos, who are now back on par with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
The offense, which had been a cause for concern recently, was particularly impressive. Bo Nix threw one interception, but also racked up 333 total yards and three touchdowns (one on the ground). Overall, the Broncos offense gained 512 yards and did not allow a single sack.
The rushing game stood out in particular: 38 carries for 186 yards (4.9 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns, led by running back J.K. Dobbins, who contributed over 100 yards on the ground and played a key role in controlling the game. Wide receiver Marvin Mims scored the second rushing touchdown on an end-around play. RJ Harvey also found the end zone once. Although the defense did not force a turnover, cornerback Patrick Surtain had Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase in his pocket for the entire game and did not allow a catch when he played man-to-man defense against him.
Bengals disappoint again across the board
In fact, Cincinnati’s offense seemed paralyzed. Only 159 yards total, 125 of which were through the air (14 of 25 completions, 5.0 yards per attempt) and a meager 53 on the ground (3.5 yards per carry). Not a single touchdown, instead three sacks for minus 19 yards and a passer rating of 69.6 for Burrow backup Jake Browning. The best runner was running back Chase Brown (40 yards), the best receiver was Tee Higgins with a meager 32 yards. Demetrius Knight’s interception was presumably the only positive note of the game for the Bengals. Next week, both teams face tough tasks: the Bengals host the Detroit Lions, while the Denver Broncos travel to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
