NFL: Cleveland Browns’ Malik McDowell apparently arrested

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Malik McDowell has apparently been arrested for assault, resisting law enforcement officers and causing a public nuisance. McDowell has had frequent run-ins with police in the past.

According to a report in the South Florida Sun Sentinel, police were called to the vicinity of a school because McDowell was allegedly walking around there unclothed. When the officers approached the 25-year-old, he attacked and injured one of the officers. McDowell then fled the scene but was later apprehended.

The Cleveland Browns released a statement shortly after, announcing that they were aware of the incident but were still gathering more information about the case.

McDowell played 15 games for the Cleveland Browns this past NFL season, collecting 33 tackles and three sacks.
