NFL – Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Flacco will also be Joe Burrow’s backup in 2026

Quarterback Joe Flacco is set to enter his 19th season in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and is set to remain Joe Burrow’s backup.

The Cincinnati Bengals will probably continue to rely on quarterback Joe Flacco in the 2026 NFL season.

According to Jordan Schultz, the 41-year-old has reportedly agreed a new one-year contract with the Bengals.

This means the Bengals will have their experienced backup quarterback for Joe Burrow for another year. This will be Flacco’s 19th season in the NFL.

Flacco impressed in the preseason as Burrow’s replacement

In the preseason, Flacco was traded from the Cleveland Browns to Cincinnati and subsequently made six starts due to an injury to Burrow.

In those six games, Flacco threw the third most touchdown passes in the NFL behind Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye.

At the end of the season, both Burrow and Flacco played in the Pro Bowl.
