Quarterback Joe Burrow’s house was broken into while he was beating the Dallas Cowboys.
It happened again. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s house was also broken into while he was playing an NFL game.
It is the next high-profile burglary case, after Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were already victims of such a crime in the weeks before.
As the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed, the break-in occurred shortly after 8 p.m. local time on Monday. At the same time, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals entered the field at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
According to the report, police headquarters received a call from a woman claiming that her daughter was in the house of Joe Burrow, which was being broken into at the time.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now,” the woman told headquarters. “My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She lives there, he’s at a football game.”
When the burglary was reported to the emergency call center, a security guard was already said to be at Burrow’s house. The officer in question reported that a bedroom window had been broken and the bedroom “ransacked.”
NFL sends burglary memo to players
The suspects were no longer on the premises. Further details of the burglary are not known.
Just a few weeks ago, the NFL issued a security memo about recent burglaries at players’ homes.
The league memo followed break-ins at the homes of two Chiefs stars, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. According to the Associated Press, the NFL used the memo to inform its players that the homes of professional athletes “are increasingly the target of break-ins by organized and talented groups”.
And further: “Officials have stated that these groups target the houses on days when the athletes have games.”
