NFL: Buffalo Bills suffer miserable defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans – playoffs in jeopardy?

The Buffalo Bills have suffered another avoidable defeat. The Bills lost 19-23 to the Houston Texans. Division victory is now a distant prospect.

The Buffalo Bills have suffered their fourth defeat in their eleventh game of the season. The Bills lost 19-23 away to the Houston Texans thanks to a weak second half. Josh Allen racked up 274 total yards (254 through the air), but failed to score a touchdown and instead threw two costly interceptions, one of them just before the end in the Texans’ red zone.

It wasn’t the running game: Running back James Cook gained 116 rushing yards and one touchdown, averaging nearly seven yards per carry. Khalil Shakir was the best receiver with 110 yards, but he also fumbled a ball in the Texans’ half.

Houston Texans: Defense takes control again

The Texans won thanks mainly to their defense, which not only picked off two passes and forced a fumble, but also sacked Allen eight times. Will Anderson alone had 2.5 sacks.

Davis Mills had a solid game, completing 16 of 30 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Woody Marks rushed for 74 yards.
Nico Collins was the Texans’ best receiver with 55 yards, while Christian Kirk and Jaylen Higgins scored the two touchdowns. The Bills will travel to the Pittsburgh Steelers next week, while the Houston Texans will travel to the Indianapolis Colts.
