Bills quarterback Josh Allen raves about Patriots playmaker Drake Maye in an interview, calling him a “role model for football.”
Although Bills quarterback Josh Allen has only faced new Patriots playmaker Drake Maye twice, he is already a big fan.
The current NFL MVP has now expressed his admiration for the Pats’ first-round pick from last year. “I think Drake is super talented, he’s one of my favorite quarterbacks among the young quarterbacks in the league,” he said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
“I’ve spent some time with him, and he’s going through life the right way. He just does things the right way. I think he’s a role model for football,” Allen said.
The 29-year-old is confident that one of his long-time teammates will be a big help to Maye. We’re talking about wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who played with Allen on the Bills from 2020 to 2023 but will be wearing a Patriots jersey next season.
Allen certain: Diggs will be a big help to Maye
“I think he gives Drake a lot of confidence,” Allen said of Diggs, who earned all four of his Pro Bowl nominations during his time in Buffalo. “Having played in the league for so long, he can mentor Drake with his knowledge.”
He added: “Drake is going to catch the ball and run, and it will help him a lot to be able to throw the ball to someone like Stefon.”
The Patriots drafted Maye second overall in 2024, but he only managed four wins and 13 losses in his first season.
