December 9, 07:00: Houston Texans fire head coach Lovie Smith
As the Houston Texans have already officially confirmed, Head Coach Lovie Smith has been fired. Previously, several insiders had reported that there would likely be a parting of ways between the two parties.
Smith, who was fired after only one season as head coach, managed the Texans to a 32-31 win over the Indianapolis Colts on the last day of the season, but still finished the season with a record of three wins, 13 losses and one tie.
Smith succeeded David Culley at the end of last season, who was also fired after one season with the Texans. The 64-year-old had three years left on his contract in Houston.
Shortly after the dismissal, the first successors are already being traded. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Jonathan Gannon (defensive coordinator, Philadelphia Eagles) and DeMeco Ryans (defensive coordinator, San Francisco 49ers) are candidates.

8 December, 18:15: ran forecast: It’s going to be wild!
The head coach is wobbling on a whole host of teams. With the Houston Texans, the dismissal of Lovie Smith seems almost inevitable after a season with only two wins.
