An unusual schedule means that two teams will make history on the eleventh NFL match day.
One of the biggest matches on the eleventh NFL match day is the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. When the Steelers take to the field at their home Acrisure Stadium on Sunday evening, they will make league history.
For the first time in the history of the best football league in the world, a team will face a division rival for the first time on the eleventh matchday. In the first ten weeks, the Steelers always played against teams from other divisions. In the final stretch of the season, the franchise now has to play six of the remaining eight games against teams from the AFC North.
The bizarre thing is that the Pittsburgh Steelers are not alone in making history. The Chicago Bears, from the NFC North, have also yet to face a team from their division in the current season. This will change with the game against the Green Bay Packers.
Incidentally, the Atlanta Falcons were the last team to face their division rivals, not meeting any opponents from the NFC South in the first nine matchdays of the 2019 season.
