It is the largest contract in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30.
The 31-year-old had signed a two-year, $16 million contract with the Ravens prior to the 2024 season.
Saquon Barkley of Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles is currently the highest-paid running back in the NFL with an average annual salary of $20.6 million.
Derrick Henry chasing top 10 best running backs
“I want to finish my career as a Raven,” Henry told The Athletic at the NFL Honors in early February.
The early contract extension suggests that the desire is mutual.
After leaving the Tennessee Titans, Henry played in all 17 regular season games in his first year in Baltimore, recording 325 rushes for 1,921 yards and 18 touchdowns.
With 11,423 rushing yards, he currently ranks 19th on the all-time list. A season with more than 1,300 yards could put him in the top 10 of all time.
