NFL: Baltimore Ravens – Lamar Jackson bans teammates from playing table tennis and video games in the locker room

The Baltimore Ravens have fallen short of their own expectations so far this season. Injured star quarterback Lamar Jackson recognized the disruptive factor and had it eliminated without further ado.

The Baltimore Ravens ended their losing streak on Sunday, defeating the Chicago Bears 30-16. Before the game, the team banned all distractions from the locker room, including the basketball hoop, ping pong table, and game consoles.

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey revealed that star quarterback Lamar Jackson made the decision to remove the “distractions” from the locker room after the team’s 1-5 start.

Although Jackson had to sit out due to a thigh injury, he wanted his teammates to focus fully on their tasks. Jackson confirmed this on Tuesday when speaking to reporters. “I told Kenico, our equipment manager, to get rid of all the games and the ping-pong table and turn off the TVs. If we could have removed them, they would have been gone too,” Jackson explained.

Baltimore Ravens attempt to save their season

“I really appreciate Steve making all of that possible for us, but we had to focus. I don’t want to say that the guys don’t take their job seriously—don’t get me wrong—but I just felt like it wasn’t the right time for that. We still have a lot of work to do.”

Jackson’s approach paid off: His Ravens dominated the Bears in all areas of the game – with Tyler Huntley at quarterback – and scored 30 points for the first time since Week 3.

However, Sunday’s victory does not mean that the toys will be returning. Jackson made it clear that there will be no more games in the locker room this NFL season.

The Ravens have a chance to carry their new momentum into Thursday night when they face the Miami Dolphins. Jackson is expected to be back on the field for the first time since September 28 – and said he is “full of anticipation” about his comeback.
