NFL – Baltimore Ravens: Despite a difficult season, coach John Harbaugh is not concerned about job security

The Baltimore Ravens are currently experiencing a difficult season. However, head coach John Harbaugh is not particularly concerned about job security.

With two games remaining in the NFL regular season, the Baltimore Ravens have only a slim 9% chance of making the playoffs. After the late defeat against the New England Patriots, head coach John Harbaugh answered questions from journalists and commented on the issue of job security. “I try to do my job, not keep my job,” explained the head coach. “My focus for 18 years here and 41 years in general as a coach has been to do my best and fight as hard as I can to give the guys the best chance to succeed. And I don’t think about anything beyond today because it’s not given to us to think about it.”

Harbaugh added: “We have no control over that except for the work we do today. And if we do a good job today, then tomorrow there will be an opportunity to do this job or another job. And that’s what you hope for.”

Harbaugh focuses on the Packers

Harbaugh is currently experiencing one of the most difficult seasons of his 18 years as head coach with the Ravens. After starting the season as betting favorites, the team’s playoff dreams could be dashed this week if the Ravens lose to the Packers on Saturday or the Steelers beat the Browns on Sunday.

The team currently has seven wins and eight losses, its first negative record since 2015.

Incidentally, when asked if he had received assurances from Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti regarding his role as coach next season, Harbaugh said, “The future is today. The future is the Green Bay Packers, and that’s what we’re focused on.”

The 63-year-old signed a three-year contract extension at the end of March.
