Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin speaks to US journalists about the talks with star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He can be seen later working out with a Steelers WR.
At the NFL League Meeting in Palm Beach, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin commented on his franchise’s talks with quarterback superstar Aaron Rodgers.
The head coach confirmed to US journalists that the playmaker had visited the team at the beginning of March to discuss a possible engagement. Tomlin explained in this context that it was a “really good day”. However, the 53-year-old did not provide any concrete information about the status of negotiations with the four-time MVP.
A video that is going viral on social media suggests that Rodgers could actually play for Pittsburgh soon. In it, Rodgers can be seen working out with DK Metcalf, the Steelers’ new wide receiver.
Even before the video surfaced, Tomlin spoke rather generally about the situation around Rodgers. “It was really good to spend some time together and get to know each other better, but it’s free agency,” he was quoted as saying by ESPN. “It’s a process. I have nothing more important to add,” Tomlin continued.

The head coach also stated that there is no deadline for the Steelers to sign Rodgers or any other quarterback. Accordingly, the team is continuing to evaluate all options, both in free agency and in the draft. According to U.S. media reports, franchise officials will meet with Ole Miss playmaker Jaxson Dart.
Currently, Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are under contract with the Steelers. Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen, who all played for Pittsburgh last season, have since signed with other teams.
