On the “Pat McAfee Show” this week, the 41-year-old said: “DK is a role model. He’s also a big reason why I’m in Pittsburgh.”

He is referring to wide receiver DK Metcalf. The two pros got to know each other in recent months, as Rodgers revealed.

“At the beginning of the year, I didn’t know DK at all. He said, ‘I train every day at 6 a.m.’ I thought, okay, this guy has discipline and drive. I asked, ‘How about 8 a.m., because I have to drive from Malibu to UCLA?’ He said, ‘Yeah, that’s fine.’ He’s not just a role model, he’s a really solid person,” reported the four-time MVP.

Praising his colleague, he continued: “He’s a solid, solid guy and leads by example. The way he trains – I think that’s one of the most encouraging things.”

The size and charisma of the franchise also play a decisive role in his decision-making: “It’s about finishing with a lot of love, fun, and peace. I’ve played in the NFL for 20 years, which is a long time. And I couldn’t imagine a better place to finish than with one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL.”
