NFL: Aaron Rodgers reaches career milestone with 500th touchdown pass with New York Jets

Few have achieved this: Aaron Rodgers throws his 500th touchdown pass in what may be his last NFL game.

Aaron Rodgers reached a milestone in his long NFL career in the game against the Miami Dolphins.

The New York Jets quarterback threw his 500th touchdown pass.

In what may have been his last NFL game, the experienced playmaker found teammate Tyler Conklin. The wide receiver converted a five-yard pass from Rodgers into a touchdown.

It made the score 6-6 against the Dolphins in the second quarter of the game.

Tom Brady in a league of his own

This puts Rodgers in an elite and extremely exclusive group. Only four other NFL quarterbacks have reached the 500 touchdown passes mark.

Before Rodgers, only Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539) and Rodgers’ predecessor Brett Favre (508) threw more than 500 touchdown passes.

Rodgers and Manning even reached the 500-mile milestone in under 250 NFL games.

Rodgers is even the only active quarterback to have thrown more than 400 touchdowns. Matthew Stafford (377) is the only other player within touching distance.

Incidentally, Rodgers kept the ball from the 500th touchdown pass for himself.

Rodgers followed that up with touchdown passes No. 501, 502 and 503. The 502nd went to Davante Adams, who caught 83 of the 503 in the end zone – more than any other receiver in Rodgers’ career.
