Dalvin Cook and the New York Jets are going their separate ways. Will the running back soon be playing for a playoff team?
The New York Jets and running back Dalvin Cook have agreed to terminate their contract a few days before the Jets’ final game of the season against the New England Patriots. ESPN and NFL insider Tom Pelissero are unanimous in their report.
However, the 28-year-old could soon be moving on to a new team. The separation is said to give Cook the opportunity to sign with a playoff team and possibly play for the Super Bowl.
Cook was released by the Minnesota Vikings before the season and signed with the Jets shortly afterwards. However, he hardly played a major role there, especially not after the return of Breece Hall, who had been injured for a long time.
In total, Cook has just 214 rushing yards on 67 run attempts (3.2 yards per run on average) and has not scored a touchdown.
