Allen Lazard talks about future interaction – with Aaron Rodgers – after his move to the New York Jets. Is he looking to put pressure on Jets and Packers with this?
Allen Lazard will be chasing touchdowns for the New York Jets next season. A few days ago, the 27-year-old agreed with the franchise on a four-year contract worth 44 million US dollars.
The plan is for him to catch plenty of touchdowns in the Big Apple – preferably from Aaron Rodgers. There is nothing yet but talks between the clubs and Rodgers, but a trade agreement could come soon if Lazard’s words are to be believed.
Lazard, who has been with the Green Bay Packers for the past five years, told “SNY”, “It feels good that 12 is going to be my quarterback again. “
Aaron Rodgers wants to join the New York Jets
Does the wide receiver perhaps already know more or is he using these statements to increase the pressure on the Jets and Packers, who have yet to agree on a trade package for Rodgers?
Rodgers had announced his intention to play for the Jets on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday.
A trade, however, could still fall through because of the Packers’ demands. However, the Packers are also looking to make the generational shift at the quarterback position and go with Jordan Love.
Lazard is already talking Super Bowl
“With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the possibility of winning is always there. When you look at it that way, it really is the Super Bowl. Especially at this point in his career. His play automatically elevates the potential and ability of everyone on the field right away,” Lazard praised the four-time NFL MVP.
With the Rodgers-Lazard combo, the Jets could look forward to an experienced duo. In 56 games together, Lazard has 168 catches for 2,216 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.
