The New York Jets’ preparations for the season are in full swing. As part of minicamp, however, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has now skipped a day of practice – without an excuse.
The New York Jets’ hopes for the coming season also rest on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The 40-year-old is ready to return to action after recovering from injury (he only played three snaps last season) and is expected to be the missing piece of the puzzle for New York.
However, he has now missed a full day of training as part of the minicamp.
“Aaron Rodgers wasn’t there today because he had an appointment that was important to him. Still, it’s considered an unexcused absence,” explained Head Coach Robert Saleh at a press conference.
Rodgers is likely to face a fine.
Aaron Rodgers with good practice participation
Apart from the missed day, Saleh attested to his quarterback’s good participation in practice.
In addition to Rodgers, pass rusher Haason Reddick, who the Jets acquired in this year’s offseason, was still missing.
