New England Patriots with special tribute for Jakob Johnson

Jakob Johnson has now played 1000 games for the New England Patriots. For this, owner Robert Kraft gave him a special surprise – including an announcement.

Munich – Jakob Johnson has reached a big milestone: The fullback has completed 1000 plays for the New England Patriots and is only the third player from the International Pathway Program to achieve this in the NFL. For this he was specially honoured by his team.

According to “NESN”, Patriots boss Robert Kraft surprised local journalists with his presence at the press conference and presented his German protégé with a special game ball.

“We hope you make 1000 more plays for us,” Kraft told the beaming Johnson. “I also want to tell you that tomorrow is Jacob’s birthday and we will be making a special announcement.”

Advance speculation under the Twitter post is that it involves marketing rights in the German market. Four teams will be involved. The Patriots were considered top favourites anyway due to their popularity and proximity through Sebastian Vollmer, Markus Kuhn and Johnson.

Johnson has already received a first birthday present with the ball. Next, he would definitely enjoy a hefty contract extension with the Pats. “For 1000 more plays” would be due soon, anyway.
