New England Patriots give health update on Isaiah Bolden.

An injury to Isaiah Bolden has caused an early end to the NFL preseason game between the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots. After a night in hospital, the Patriots have now given the all-clear. Bolden himself reported back with a short message.

The New England Patriots’ preseason game at the Green Bay Packers was called off Monday night German time.

Patriots pass defender Isaiah Bolden was left motionless after a violent collision with a teammate.

The rookie has “feeling in all extremities” but will remain in hospital overnight for observation, the Patriots announced.

On Sunday, the Patriots finally gave the all-clear in a statement: “After a series of tests and overnight observation, Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden has been released from Aurora Bay Medical Center in Green Bay.”

Bolden is expected to rejoin his teammates later Sunday and travel back to Foxborough with them. The Patriots have cancelled what was supposed to be a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday and Wednesday because of the incident.

Isaiah Bolden checks in with brief message

Bolden himself got in touch via X on Sunday afternoon German time. “Thank you for the prayers, I’m happy to be back with the boys,” he wrote there.

"We're all praying for him," head coach Bill Belichick said after the game, saying the stoppage in the final quarter with the score 21-17 in favour of the Patriots was the right decision.

The 23-year-old Bolden collided with teammate Calvon Munson and then remained unconscious on his stomach.

Teammates kneeled on the field during treatment

During treatment by the medical team, the entire Patriots team knelt on the field.

"I know him, so I didn't want to continue playing. I felt bad," said Packers receiver Malik Harris, who caught the pass on the play of the mishap.

"It was a good decision that we didn't continue the game. It was horrible. The same thing could have happened to me on that hit."

Bolden was selected in the seventh round in the 2023 draft. He previously played college football for Jackson State, where he was the top kickoff returner in 2021, averaging 36.6 yards.

Anxious minutes also for Jets vs Buccaneers

Banged-up minutes were also experienced by players, fans and officials at the New York Jets game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bucs quarterback John Wolford suffered a neck injury on a sack and had to be cartwheeled off the field.

The 27-year-old gave a thumbs up in the process and is also expected to be able to move his arms and legs.
