Tua Tagovailoa has taken hits and suffered concussions in the past. From Michael Vick, here’s a tip to fight back.
Tua Tagovailoa is already preparing inside for the next hits. The Miami Dolphins quarterback now uses the martial art of jiu-jitsu to protect himself from further head injuries by falling properly.
In 2022, the playmaker suffered two confirmed concussions. The 25-year-old considered retirement, but then decided against it and will enter his fourth season in the NFL with the Dolphins in 2023. All the while being wary of possible further head injuries.
Tua Tagovailoa should become more durable
For the future, Tagovailoa has now received some advice from a former superstar: Michael Vick gave Tua some advice on Tyreek Hill’s “It Needed To Be Said” podcast to become much more robust.
“I just think he needs to step it up a little bit,” Vick said on the podcast. “Get a little bit bigger. Get stronger. When you grow into your male body, that’s what has to happen. There’s nothing wrong with putting on another 10 or 15 pounds. Don’t get punched. Don’t get pushed around.”
In addition to the tip, Vick also had some high praise for Tagovailoa. Since playing for the Dolphins, Tagovailoa has always faced a bit of criticism. The Dolphins have repeatedly fueled distrust in the signal caller’s abilities by talking to other quarterbacks, such as the illicit one with Tom Brady.
“I’m not going to say he’s the most accurate, I’m just going to say he throws a catchable ball,” Vick said. “He throws a really catchable ball. If you look at what he did in college, every ball was a hit. Soft, right where the receiver was. “
