Le’Veon Bell hopes to make NFL comeback and end career with Pittsburgh Steelers

Le’Veon Bell once parted ways with the Pittsburgh Steelers in controversy. Now the running back, who is currently a boxer, wants to make a comeback with his former team

Six years ago, Le’Veon Bell was an All-Pro running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Today, he’s 31 years old and most recently has focused only on his career as a professional boxer.

Only last autumn he declared that the probability of him playing football again was one per cent. But Bell has apparently changed his mind. He explained in the “Steel Here” podcast that he would like to get one last chance in the NFL to show what he can do on the football field. Only then does he want to officially end his career.

But he doesn’t want to do that just anywhere, but exclusively with the Steelers, where his career once began so gloriously. “The day I retire will be with Pittsburgh,” the athlete said.

Whether the franchise feels the same way?

After all, the running back’s time with the Steelers ended messily, as the athlete went on strike for an entire season because he couldn’t agree on a long-term contract with the team.

In Bell’s favour, however, is that he is still in top form thanks to his boxing matches.

By the way: If he could undo the past today, he probably would. For example, he stated that he should have accepted the Steelers’ contract offer. In addition, he described his decision to leave the team as “petty”.
