Las Vegas Raiders: Monster deal for defensive tackle Christian Wilkins

Free agency in the NFL has begun! The Las Vegas Raiders secure the services of defensive tackle Christian Wilkins – and they’re willing to pay a lot for it.

The Las Vegas Raiders are tinkering with their defense for the coming season and have put a big exclamation mark on the start of free agency.

Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins will receive a four-year contract from the Raiders that could earn him up to 110 million US dollars (84.75 guaranteed). This is reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter.

This makes Wilkins one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league. For the Raiders’ new general manager, Tom Telesco, it is the first deal of the still young free agency.

Christian Wilkins as partner for Maxx Crosby

Wilkins strengthens a defensive line full of holes. The former Miami Dolphins’ all-time leading rusher has played just over 4,000 snaps in the last five seasons and has not missed a game since the 2020/21 season.

Wilkins is characterized by very good skills in run defense, but was also able to convince as a pass rusher. In five years, he collected 173 pressures and 20.5 sacks.

With the Raiders, he is now set to become an important partner for star defensive end Maxx Crosby.
