Milestone for the Las Vegas Raiders! The NFL club becomes the first team in the world’s best football league to appoint a black woman as team president

Las Vegas – The Las Vegas Raiders have become the first club in the NFL to appoint a black woman as team president in Sandra Douglass Morgan. The club made the announcement on Thursday.

Morgan had previously served as vice chair of the Las Vegas 2024 Super Bowl Host Committee.

“I am honoured to join the Raiders at one of the most important times in the team’s history,” Morgan said. “I look forward to carrying this team’s spirit and commitment to excellence on the field into all areas of this organisation. “

The Raiders had moved from Oakland to Las Vegas in 2020. Morgan’s hiring comes nine months after the resignation of Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, who had come under pressure in the wake of racist, homophobic and misogynistic remarks in emails that had been made public.
