Las Vegas Raiders: Derek Carr raves about Davante Adams – interaction “like riding a bike”

The signing of Davante Adams is a dream come true for Derek Carr. The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback feels playing with the longtime Packers star is like riding a bike.

Munich – The Las Vegas Raiders have shaken up the AFC West with the signing of wide receiver Davante Adams.

The trade for the longtime Packers pro is not just a sporting win, it also allows him and quarterback Derek Carr to fulfil a long-held dream.

On Wednesday, the playmaker signed a three-year contract extension that ties him to the Raiders until 2025. At the accompanying press conference, he told US reporters that it was “so good” to now have Adams back as a teammate.

Derek Carr: Throws at Adams are like riding a bike

“It’s been a few years since we played together,” explained Carr, who played together with Adams at the same college. “We were always close, taking each other out to dinner and stuff like that. When my brothers asked me what it was like throwing to Davante for the first time again, I replied, ‘Honestly, it was like riding a bike.’ Every ball is spot on and this guy is so insanely talented that he makes me look better than I actually am.”

He continued, “It’s a blessing to be able to play with him, not only because of the kind of player he is, but because he’s one of my best friends in the whole world,” Carr added.

Joint team has been planned for a long time

Accordingly, he and Adams “spent a long time trying to plan and pull this thing off. But at the end of the day, we both loved our situations. He had a great situation, I had a great situation. But we always talked about how one day we would make it work. And then the opportunity came.”

For Carr, the fact that it’s actually working out to work together again is “exciting. We’ve had success together before, but that was at the college level – it’s a whole different thing. But we have the confidence that we can do it at this level,” the signal caller is sure.

Carr and Adams once played together at Fresno State. In the 2012-13 season, Adams caught 233 passes from Carr for 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns.
