Kansas City Chiefs: Isaiah Buggs arrested again – but this time not for animal cruelty

Chiefs pro Isaiah Buggs is arrested for the second time in a month – on completely different charges.

Negative headlines again for the Kansas City Chiefs! For the second time in just one month, defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been arrested by police. This is according to online records from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers took the athlete into custody on Sunday morning on charges of domestic violence and burglary. The 27-year-old was later released after posting $5,000 bail. No further details about the arrest were released.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already been informed about the case, but declined to comment, according to ESPN.

At the end of May, the US-American turned himself in to the police after being charged with two counts of second-degree animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa.

He allegedly locked two dogs on his property and denied them any access to water or food. One of the two animals had to be euthanized.

Buggs denies the allegations

Buggs himself denied the allegations and issued a statement to this effect via his agent. Instead, he accused the police of waging a campaign against his client. “The City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to open the case is part of a concerted effort by the city and the police to tarnish Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation,” he said. According to the statement, the city wants Buggs to close his local restaurant.

Buggs was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2019 draft, after stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions he was traded to the Chiefs in 2023, but was only used on the practice squad
