After three years as Tom Brady’s backup, quarterback Blaine Gabbert joins the Kansas City Chiefs. After just a few weeks, he recognises great similarities between Patrick Mahomes and TB12.

For three years, quarterback Blaine Gabbert acted as Tom Brady’s backup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now that the superstar has retired to the NFL, his backup has also moved on.

In April, Gabbert signed with the Kansas City Chiefs to back up two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes.

After only a few weeks of working together, Gabbert already sees great parallels between Brady and Mahomes. They are both unique in working hard to do everything right in the offseason.

Gabbert: Brady and Mahomes are very similar

“They are insane perfectionists,” he told US journalists. “And I mean that in the most endearing way possible. In my opinion, they’re the two best that have ever played. “

And further, “When you see the similarities in how they work in the meeting room and on the training ground. As we all know, they’re completely different players, but the way they approach the game, on and off the field, is exactly the same.”

Gabbert is heading into his 13th season in the NFL. The Chiefs will be his sixth team in the process.
