Kansas City Chiefs: Andy Reid hopes for receiver Skyy Moore and comments on OBJ rumours

After several departures in the receiving corps of the Kansas City Chiefs, Head Coach Andy Reid expects an explosion of performance from a youngster of all things. He also comments on a possible OBJ signing.

Every NFL team is currently dealing with players leaving the club. So are the Kansas City Chiefs, who have changes to report, especially in the receiving corps.

With JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman, two experienced pass receivers are gone. But who will fill the void that has been created?

“We expect Skyy Moore to play a bigger role,” head coach Andy Reid told “NFL Network”, “We’ll just see how everything else works out. We have the same players back that we’ve had and we like this group. JuJu is the exception. Mecole was a little banged up, so he wasn’t able to play as much as he would have liked.”

He continued, “We’ll get a handle on things without JuJu. Someone will have to step in and take that place. “

Reid backs Moore for Chiefs

A tall order for Moore, who is entering his second season – especially since he didn’t see too much action as a rookie behind Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney, Smith-Schuster and Hardman.

Still, Reid expects a lot from the second-round pick from last year’s draft. After all, the one touchdown he scored last season was saved for the Super Bowl.

With the exception of tight end Travis Kelce and, of course, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ offence is not all that prominent for 2023. So how about Odell Beckham Jr?

When asked, the master coach explained: “Odell is a good football player. Yes, he does a good job. So we will see how it all develops. “
