Joe Burrow could sign a new, long-term contract with the Cincinnati Bengals after the 2022 season. As of yet, though, the quarterback is only joking about the dough being shelled out at the moment.

Munich – When the salaries in the NFL explode and the contracts take on increasingly hefty dollar dimensions, you can get restless as a budding superstar.

Joe Burrow could do that without question.

He is entering his third season in 2022, was in the Super Bowl last season with the Cincinnati Bengals and has all the makings of one of the next top quarterback stars. Joe Cool” is already a style icon, and he has already proven what he can do, even if – due to his cruciate ligament rupture in 2020 – “only” over one and a half seasons.

Contracts for Rodgers and Co. are “well deserved “

But while players like Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson are signing mega-contracts, Burrow isn’t worrying (yet).

“The market is just exploding. It’s crazy what these guys are getting up to, and I think it’s well deserved,” Burrow said. “All these guys are playing at the top of their game. They’re getting paid accordingly. But I’m not worried about that. I like to joke about it, but really, I don’t think about it much at the moment.”

That could change soon, though, because Burrow can seek a new contract after the season. In 2022, the 2020 No. 1 pick will receive a base salary of $3.9 million as part of his rookie contract. A bargain for the Bengals.

Strong numbers

Burrow was one of the players who made his mark on the 2021 season, with him fashionably as mentioned, but also statistically. A completion percentage of 70.4 percent was tops, in addition to throws for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.

Clear: Another season like this, and Burrow is likely to get serious about mega-contracts, not just jokes.
