Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne: “A good year to miss”

Travis Etienne of the Jacksonville Jaguars has had to sit out his entire rookie year due to a serious foot injury. However, he is not sad about it, as he reveals in an interview. On the contrary.

Munich/Jacksonville – The Jacksonville Jaguars truly did not have an easy year in the 2021 season. As in the season before, the “Jags” were the worst team in the league.

Add to that the scandals and misfires surrounding now former head coach Urban Meyer. Surely there were finer things in the NFL in 2021 than being a Jaguars player.

Etienne: “Was a good year to miss “

That’s exactly how running back Travis Etienne sees it. He’s a player in Jacksonville, but missed all of last year with an injury.

“When you look at the results, you also think it was a good year to miss,” the running back, who will have to wait until at least September for his first snap in the NFL, explained in an interview on “ESPN.”

The Jaguars themselves, at least, are eagerly awaiting the return of the former Clemson Tiger. “I’ve already heard a thing or two from my running back coach about how they’re going to use me,” Etienne enthused.

The ball carrier also gave an update from rehab, saying the 23-year-old sees himself at 90 per cent fitness and revealed he is wearing a screw in his damaged foot. “But that doesn’t affect me. If I didn’t know it was there, I wouldn’t even feel it,” Etienne said calmly.

The Jaguars’ offseason workouts are already underway, and since they have a new head coach in Doug Pederson, they were allowed to start a little early. Etienne is expected to be back at 100 per cent fitness by the start of training camps.
