The Indianapolis Colts are currently without running back Jonathan Taylor again. However, not because of disagreements over the contract, Taylor is excused for personal reasons.
No topic in the NFL was more heated at the beginning of the preseason than the running backs and their slim pay.
Jonathan Taylor, running back for the Indianapolis Colts, also stepped in. He demanded a reasonable contract or a trade from owner Jim Irsay. A mud fight then developed.
The dust has since settled and the 24-year-old was supposed to return to Colts practice – actually.
Taylor missing for “personal reasons “
But the ball carrier was not seen on the field Wednesday. Is there going to be another row?
“Jonathan Taylor has withdrawn from practice for personal reasons,” read a statement from the franchise. “His absence is excused.”
So there’s no new chapter in the running backs’ beef against pretty much the rest of the NFL world – yet…,
Taylor finished 2022 with only 861 yards rushing and four touchdowns due to injury. In 2021 he still led the league in rushing yards.
