Tight end Drew Ogletree of the Indianapolis Colts has been arrested on serious charges. He is unlikely to be available for the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Drew Ogletree of the Indianapolis Colts has been arrested on allegations of domestic violence.
According to a local media report, the tight end reported himself to the Hendricks County jail on Friday after a warrant had been issued for his arrest the day before. He had been denied bail.
According to “ESPN”, the police were called on Tuesday to a domestic dispute between Ogletree and a woman, apparently his partner. The woman said that Ogletree had thrown her to the ground during an argument. An ambulance was called to take the alleged victim to hospital.
Ogletree is being investigated for “domestic violence with moderate bodily harm”, and as his son also witnessed the situation, the 25-year-old is also charged with “domestic violence in the presence of a child under the age of 16”.
The Colts said in a statement that they were “aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree”. The team is “taking these matters seriously. We have informed the NFL and are in the process of gathering further information,” it continued. Ogletree is not expected to be available for the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on New Year’s Eve.
Ogletree is in his second year in the NFL, having been selected by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2022 draft. So far this season, he has caught nine balls for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
