For a good cause: Patriots owner power auctioned Super Bowl ring

Team owner Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots from the US football league NFL is auctioning off his Super Bowl ring from 2017 for a good cause. In the “All In Challenge”, the starting bid for the piece set with 283 diamonds was 75,000 dollars. The campaign aims to collect a double-digit million dollar amount to provide food for people in need.

In addition to the ring, the winner of the auction will receive a visit to Kraft in his office at Gillette Stadium. The team’s private jet will collect the new owner especially for this purpose, should the person not live within driving distance. Just a few hours after the auction began, 330,000 dollars were bid.

“What could I do that is so special? I’ve been thinking about it for weeks,” Kraft said in a social media video: “In the end, the 2017 Super Bowl came to my mind. We were already 3:28 behind and the probability of losing the game was 99.6 percent. And then we came back and we won.”

Besides Kraft’s ring, for example, there’s a private golf lesson with Tiger Woods (currently $160,000). Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs will auction off a VIP day for two at a regular season game including a personal meeting (currently $65,000).
