Since Tua Tagovailoa joined the Miami Dolphins, the franchise has sought big solutions at the quarterback position several times. Tagovailoa still believes in the backing of those in charge.
Munich – The new NFL season hasn’t started yet, so Tua Tagovailoa already has to talk about his standing with the Miami Dolphins. No wonder: On Tuesday, it came out through an investigation that the Dolphins wanted Tom Brady, and launched several attempts to do so: First in 2019, then again in 2020, and furthermore in 2021.
Tagovailoa was selected fifth overall by the franchise in the 2020 draft. Since then, he’s struggled to establish his standing as a franchise quarterback, apparently unable to erase any final doubts.
Apparently doubts about Tua Tagovailoa
The fact that Miami isn’t fully convinced the 24-year-old is a solution for the future was evident last season, Tagovailoa’s second in the NFL, when the Dolphins were considered a possible option for Deshaun Watson.
But Brady or Watson aside, Tagovailoa enters the 2022 season as the Fins’ quarterback. And the young playmaker is convinced the powers that be will stick by him.
“I remember coming to the Dolphins in 2020. What happened in 2019, I can’t comment on that,” he said. “I’ve been here since 2020 and I’m still here. I’m blessed to be here. If it has to do with the support from the team, I think the team is fully behind me. “
Tagovailoa is 13-8 in 21 starts, throwing for 4,467 yards, 27 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. His rating last season was 90.1.
