At the start of day two at the NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans redeem fallen quarterback Will Levis, and Hendon Hooker also finds a team. Meanwhile, the Packers are upgrading their offense.
He was the loser of the first day of the draft: Will Levis. The Kentucky Wildcats quarterback was considered a sure first-round pick, but then wasn’t selected by any team. Now, however, the 23-year-old has been redeemed.
To get the playmaker, the Tennessee Titans traded up at the start of the second day of the draft and secured the 33rd pick from the Arizona Cardinals. Along with that, the Cards also gave up the 81st pick to the Titans in exchange for the 41st and 72nd picks this year, plus a third-round pick in 2024.
Tennessee, in turn, struck and secured the services of Levis, who is now expected to compete with Ryan Tannehill.
Packers upgrade offense – Hooker to Lions
A team has also been found for much-discussed signal caller Hendon Hooker. After a trade with the Denver Broncos, the Detroit Lions selected him at position 68. Currently Hooker is still recovering from a torn ACL, but in the mid-term he could provide competition for Jared Goff.
The Green Bay Packers, meanwhile, have upgraded their offense. After drafting a defensive player in the first round – again – they really got going on day two. Tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft were drafted with picks 42 and 78, respectively, and they even drafted a wide receiver in Jayden Reed at position 50. This should have pleased quarterback Jordan Love in particular.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers made a more than surprising pick. In the third round, they selected Jake Moody at position 99, a kicker to replace Robbie Gould. While he may be the best player at his position in the draft, a third-round pick for him is more than overkill.

By the way, the Pittsburgh Steelers provided the feel-good story of the second day of the draft with the very first pick. At position 32, they selected Joey Porter Jr – a cornerback from Penn State. The special: Joey Porter’s father played linebacker for the team for many years.
